ALGORAEOS

AI-enabled Drug Discovery and Development

AlgoraeOS will be our proprietary drug discovery platform, developed in partnership with the University of New South Wales (UNSW, a global top 20 University). On completion, AlgoraeOS will deploy cutting-edge artificial intelligence protocols and big data analytics to expand drug discovery and expedite drug development.

In collaboration with the UNSW Data Science Hub (uDASH), Algorae has aggregated a multi-disciplinary team of scientists from UNSW AI Institute to advance data-driven artificial intelligence and machine learning methodologies.

Our platform will connect previously disparate data to evaluate drugs and molecules for repositioning and combining into novel drug candidates aimed at patient cohorts experiencing significant unmet medical need.

AlgoraeOS will interpret pre-clinical, clinical, chemical, and biological data sets at an enormous scale to provide us with predictive insights into our Company’s pipeline of prospective drug candidates. The deep insight that we intend to uncover should positively influence our clinical and regulatory development course.

AlgoraeOS will be a closed-loop platform, leveraging advanced computational tools to generate novel insights in-silico that are being developed to initiate or accelerate therapeutic programs.

Each stage of discovery, pre-clinical and clinical development will generate valuable data to augment the platform, creating an iterative feedback cycle of learning, which works to up-rate the predictive capability of AlgoraeOS.

UNSW Data Science Hub (uDASH)

The University of New South Wales (UNSW) delivers a dedicated Data Science Hub (uDASH) that brings together data specialists to solve complex, real-world challenges faced by businesses, industries, and governments.

uDASH specialise in:

Advanced Tools and Computing Power: Developing advanced tools for data analysis and access to Australia's fastest array of supercomputers, including the Katana Servers and UNSW’s EPICentre. This means drastically reduced time required for complex data simulations.

Customised Data Science Solutions: The team of experts utilises diverse approaches like statistical modelling, machine learning, and data visualisation to provide tailored solutions, transforming complex data into actionable insights.

Principal Investigator

Associate Professor Fatemeh Vafaee

Associate Professor Fatemeh Vafaee is the Deputy Director of UNSW Data Science Hub (uDASH) and Associate Professor of Computational Biomedicine at UNSW School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences.

Her research focuses on developing computational models and advanced AI methods to better understand health and disease. She has published extensively in leading journals and has over a decade of translational research experience in data-driven biomedicine in close collaboration with industry and multiple leading institutes in Australia and internationally.

Dr Vafaee was recently honoured for her pioneering work in artificial intelligence. She received the 2023 “AI in Health” award, for developing AI to address challenges in digital medicine and cancer diagnostics and was second for the “APAC Women in AI Innovator of the Year” award.
